All about decorative trims (MCI 005)
In addition to fabric and color, you must be concerned with how buttons, beads, sequins and other decorations and fasteners will hold up to dry cleaning. Most troublesome in this respect are buttons and beads made of polystyrene, which softens or melts on exposure to dry cleaning solvent.

Choosing a leather garment (MCI 004)
A leather or suede is a major investment, so it is important to choose it carefully and care for it wisely. In selecting garments:

1. Buy from a reputable retailer.
2. Look for careful matching of colors and textures between portions of the garments. Suede will never be completely uniform, be prepared for slight variance in the depth of color after cleaning.
3. Avoid a snug fit. Hides are stretched during tanning and some relaxation shrinkage can be expected in use and cleaning.
4. Read and safe any accompanying care information.

What is Wet Cleaning? (MCI 003)
Wet cleaning is a process of cleansing garments in water and water-soluble detergents such as soap and synthetic wet cleaning detergents, using precautions to prevent shrinkage, loss of color, and fabric distortion.

The temperature of the water is controlled carefully to avoid the bleeding of colors and shrinkage. Strong alkalies and strongly alkaline soaps are never used. Garments are also given the least possible mechanical action.

What is Dry Cleaning? (MCI 001)
Dry Cleaning is the uses of solvent to remove soils and stains from fabric. It’s called “dry cleaning” because the solvent contain little or no water and does not penetrate the fibre as water does.

Among the advantages of dry cleaning is its ability to dissolve grease and oils in a way water cannot. Natural fibres such as wools and silks dry clean beautiful, but can shrink, distort, and lose colour when washed in water. Synthetic fibres such as polyester also respond well to dry cleaning.

Eventually dry cleaning helps to return garments to a “like-new” condition using precautions to prevent shrinkage, loss of colour and fabric distortion.
