All about decorative trims

In addition to fabric and color, you must be concerned with how buttons, beads, sequins and other decorations and fasteners will hold up to drycleaning. Most troublesome in this respect are buttons and beads made of polystyrene, which softens or melts on exposure to drycleaning solvent.

Wedding Gown

Wedding Gown is one of your most precious possessions and it is symbol of an important event in your life.

If you are buying it new, your gown deserves your attention to store it after the wedding.

There are several steps you can take to protect you garments:

  • Make sure your gown are clean before storing as stains or soils will cause fabric damage, color changes, insect damage and mildew.
  • Store your gown in a cool, dry place. Do not store it in a basement or attic. Basement dampness can cause mildew; attic heat could promote yellowing of the fabric.
  • Inspect your gown from time to time during storage. Stains not initially apparent could appear later.
  • If gown is boxed, the bodice should be stuffed with white acid-free tissue paper to prevent wrinkles.
